The Munro's Travel team, together with their partners and children, spent Saturday morning taking part in a community beach clean organised by Aberdeen Climate Action, with 28 people joining the initiative.

Working alongside the charity's regular volunteers, the group spent several hours collecting plastic packaging, takeaway waste, discarded fishing rope and other litter from Aberdeen Beach. The morning also sparked a little friendly competition, with one Munro's member proudly collecting more than 300 cigarette butts!

For Munro's Travel, the event was about more than collecting rubbish. It was an opportunity to spend time together outside of work, meet others who care about the local environment and help protect a place many of the team enjoy with their own families throughout the year.

The morning was especially rewarding for the youngest members of the Munro's team, who enthusiastically got stuck in alongside their parents. As well as helping make the beach cleaner, it gave them the chance to learn about the impact litter can have on wildlife and the environment, proving that even small actions can make a big difference.

Commenting on the beach clean, Rebecca Harrison, Marketing Executive at Munro's Travel, said:

"It was fantastic to see so many of our team taking part, and even better to have partners and children getting involved too. The atmosphere was brilliant and it was lovely to spend the morning alongside local volunteers who regularly give up their time to look after Aberdeen Beach. Seeing the children so eager to help was definitely one of the highlights. Hopefully it's something they'll remember and continue to care about as they grow up."

Aberdeen Climate Action hosts community beach cleans on the last Saturday of every month from April - October, welcoming anyone who'd like to get involved. Munro's Travel hopes its participation encourages more people, families and local businesses to come along to future events and help keep Aberdeen's coastline clean for everyone to enjoy.
